There’s no way around it: Fog machines are cool. I usually don’t like expensive fancy schmancy stuff to make my Halloweens creepy. But when fog machines came on the scene, and did so inexpensively, I had to get one! I waited until they were about $35, which would have been about ten to twelve years ago. Now you can get one for about $25.
The nice thing about fog machines ...

You can never have enough bodies when haunting a porch, yard, or house! Every time I haunt the house for a kid’s party or even for our adult parties, I like to have ghostly bodies placed around my rooms in chairs or at the piano. But, sadly, real bodies stink after a bit, and fake bodies cost a lot to make. And then there’s the storage issue after Halloween.
What else could I do but come up with a new ...

Over the years several companies have been creating small scale collectible models for Halloween. These models represent a variety of buildings – Victorians, mansions, morgues, movie theaters, etc. – as well as a wide array of characters and decorations.
Often these models are limited productions, the runs lasting only a season or two. This limited production time plays havoc with those of us who are rabid collectors, ...

...… or “May I make my own Fog Juice, Mommy?”
Like a lot of things (like me) fog machines have been around for a while. Originally they were designed to control insect populations by “fogging” an area with oil. It was a simple machine: pump oil into a heated metal chamber where the oil was vaporized, then the pressurized vapor exited out of a small opening. As it hit the cooler air outside, it condensed into tiny droplets; hence fog. Oil ...

Want a special Halloween menu for a simple, scrumptious meal to enjoy after Trick or Treating with your clan? Here’s a simple meal that you can make easily that’s totally in the “spirit” of the season! Get your little ones in the Halloween jammies (my favorites? Keeping nature’s gifts on canvas
One morning as I spray painted a piece of furniture black in the side yard, I noticed a cobweb catching the paint over-spay. I had to wait for the paint to dry before I could do anything else to the nightstand, so I pulled up a lawn chair and pondered all the details I could see on the painted web. What a masterpiece! I had never taken time to really look at a web closely, but ...

Preparations for Halloween can never be started too early. As the economy continues its slow descent it becomes more important to stretch the dollar, and to find a wider selection of activities to do at home with the family.
For families that love Halloween, the weeks and months leading up to October 31st are full of opportunities to obtain decorative pieces for both interior and exterior purposes. These decorative pieces can be found at yard sales, rummage ...

There are endless varieties of Halloween costumes for babies, children, teens, and young adults. It doesn't matter if you're the type of parent who is more conservative (those cleavage-showing costumes which have no place in your daughter's closet or under your roof at all), or if you're a bit more liberal with what your children are allowed to wear for Halloween (a vampire with a blood red pentagram patched into your teens forehead wouldn't bother you at all), there is ...

Halloween trees are a fairly new trend in decorating for the Halloween holiday. Like all other things specifically crafted for a holiday, or an event, the miniature ornaments made for the various styles of Halloween trees can be quite expensive. Cost aside, the fashioning of your own decorations for your Halloween tree can be a rewarding experience for both you and your family. Crafting ornaments is a small project that can easily fill a chilly afternoon, or ...

In recent years several holiday companies have started producing "Halloween Trees," complete with lights and decorations. While this may well be simple, rampant commercialism seeking to feed off of our need to consume Halloween products, it is still a great idea :-)
Money, however, inevitable raises its head, and we find ourselves asking, "Is this something I can really afford?" For myself, this tended to elicit a negative response, and a deep sigh, where I had to ...
