No. 3: Hollywood Forever Cemetery – Los Angeles, CA
According to eyewitnesses, a number of ghosts refuse to make their final curtain call at the famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Haunted sightings include:
- Actor Clifton Webb, who appears hazily at the Abbey of the Psalms mausoleum and leaves a whiff of cologne
- Silent film star Virginia Rappe, who died under mysterious circumstances
- Movie giant Rudolph Valentino, who asked a close friend to “visit” him when he died (she has been spotted to this day as the Lady in Black leaving roses at Valentino’s grave)
- And the voluptuous image of Plan 9 from Outer Space‘s Maila Nurmi (aka Vampira).
No. 2: Boothill Cemetery – Tombstone, AZ
Set in the location of a real ghost town, the cemetery may be as spirited as the tourists who visit it. A a former “wild west” hot spot, Tombstone is said to have seen shootings, stabbings and mysterious disappearances when it was thriving.
Today, those who didn’t draw quickly enough remain, hoping to have one last chance at revenge for their untimely deaths. Indeed, a photo that went viral is said to show an actual ghostly gent (look to the right in the picture to see the creepy image in the sagebrush). The man in the front is a modern-day descendant of the notorious Clanton gang.
No. 1: Union Cemetery – Easton, CT
A mysterious lady in white, glowing red eyes and an inexplicable form appearing along the highway are just a few of the disturbances to be seen at Union Cemetery.
In fact, this location is so haunted, the famous ghosthunters Ed and Lorraine Warren wrote a book about it. The book was titled, simply, “Graveyard.”
The “white lady” is said to be the spirit of a tragic young woman who was murdered by her lover and then dumped into a ditch.
Happy Halloween! And remember: if you wish to pay your respects to the dead…go during the daytime.
